QANTAS: First Class Check-in suite reopens at Melbourne Airport next week
AFF is reporting that Qantas has confirmed it will re-open its First Class Check-in Suite at Melbourne’s international terminal as of Wednesday 26 April next week. The facility has been closed since the shutdown of international flying in 2020 due to COVID-19.
The Melbourne First Class check-in differs from its sister facility in Sydney, which is already open because it is located curbside in Melbourne’s International Terminal 2. The check-in will be open from 5:30 am through to 11.25 pm to see off the currently last flight of the day, QF155 to Auckland.
Unlike in Sydney where Qantas offers all-day check-in to premium passengers, you will only be able to check-in to the Melbourne facility three hours prior to departure.

Where do you find it?
Melbourne’s First Class check-in suite is accessed kerbside. you will find a small, private check-in area next to the walkway between Terminals 1 & 2.
March right in if you are travelling in Qantas First Class or you hold Qantas Platinum, Platinum One. Oneworld Emerald frequent flyers if travelling on a Qantas-operated international flight will also get a guernsey.
Why use it?
Qantas staff at the First Class suite will take care of your luggage and can organise your spa appointment in the Qantas First Lounge. No need to queue at the desk in the lounge.
I have not had the pleasure of First Class check-in or indeed the lounge in Melbourne – well not so far anyway. I have in Sydney, and it is the best way to start a journey.
