Istanbul: Pegasus B737 skids off runway. 52 injured in the crash

The Pegasus Airlines Flight BC2193, operated by a B737 was carrying 183 people from the Aegean Sea province of Izmir when it overflew the landing, and rolled off the runway, crashing and catching fire at Istanbul’s Sabiha Gocken International Airport on Wednesday 5 February.

52 people are reported injured, but no casualties, despite the aircraft breaking up into two pieces.

2PAXfly Takeout

No reason for the crash has yet been described, but, given the break-up, it must have landed with some force. The lack of casualties is either terrific luck or good piloting.
