If you want to turbocharge your Velocity points earned for 2023, then this double point for eligible flights on Qatar Airways is the way to go, I got the offer as a member of the Virgin Australia Business Flyer program, but I think it is open to all

How to take up this offer

There are a few steps, depending if you are a current member or business member of the Velocity Frequent Flyer program.

1. First, join the Velocity frequent flyer program. If you aren’t already a member.
2. Next, you must register to activate the offer before 25 August, so you have less than 8 or less days.
3. Third, attach your velocity number to any eligible booking you make on Qatar Airlines. The flight must have an eligible QR or VA flight number and operate between 24 September and 10 December.

Points Earn Rates

How many points will get doubled, depends on the cabin and the class of the fare you purchase. A Discount Economy fare typically earns you .75 or a point per mile. A Business Classic fare earns you 1.25 points per mile. So with this promotion, a discount economy fare between Sydney to London, via Doha return would get you 32,844 points (double 16,522). For a Business Classic book trip, it would be 54,740 points (double 27,370) for the same trip.

Business Flyers

As a business flyer member, you may also be eligible for the following discounts on Virgin and Qatar Airfares, with the following discounts:

• Business Fares: VA Fare Classes J and C: 5%
• Economy Fares: VA Fare Classes Y, B, H, R, O, N, V, P and Q: 3%

Other fare classes are not eligible for a discount. The discounts apply to base fares, which exclude fees, carrier charges and taxes. The discounts apply to Virgin Australia-marketed Qatar Airways-operated flights (with a VA flight number) booked by Velocity Business Flyer members.
