COVID-19: Bali to fully open 14 March 2022

The current 3-day quarantine requirement of international travel will be dropped from Monday 14 March and replaced with self-isolation for a few hours between your arrival test at the airport and getting your negative result. You will also need a test – like the resurrection – on the 3rd day.

You will also need to have proof of your vaccination and a hotel booking of at least 4 nights post-arrival. Some Indonesian spokespeople are saying it could even happen earlier depending on infection and vaccination rates

Garuda and Jetstar flying

Garuda is scheduling a direct Sydney to Bali flight, but only one per week starting on Friday 4 March. The return leg travels via Jakarta. Jetstar will fly a B787 from Melbourne to Bali (Denpasar) on 14 March, with Brisbane and Sydney scheduled to restart in April.

2PAXfly Takeout

I love digital, except when my phone dies, which happened to me on the last night of my recent visit to New Zealand

This will be great news for Bali that depends on tourism, and Australian tourists particularly, which represent 25% of the overall traffic to the exotic island.

Bali is a favourite of mine, despite the ungodly hours that most of the 6 hour direct flights run on their return to Sydney. Book me into the Four Seasons at Sayan immediately!
