Eligible flights include domestic, Trans-Tasman, and international short-haul flights that are both marketed and operated by Virgin Australia. Note that codeshare flights and reward seat bookings are excluded from this offer. That includes those wet-leased Qatar flights to Doha.

The other difference with, say, a double status promotion with Qantas is that the Velocity program does not get you status with an alliance, like OneWorld, which gives you status across a bunch of airlines. With Velocity, you only get status with some of Virgin’s partner airlines.
