QANTAS: Surprise Business Rewards Double Status Credits promotion

QANTAS: Surprise Business Rewards Double Status Credits promotion

This is almost guaranteed to be the last opportunity to boost your status in the final weeks of 2025. With 10 weeks left until Christmas, Qantas has launched a surprising Double Status Credits (DSC) promotion, but only for members of its Business Rewards Program (QBR).

How to qualify

First up, your business has to be registered for the QBR program. Secondly, you need to be named as a traveller under that registration. Thirdly, you need to book between now and 29 October for travel between 30 October 2025 and 11 October 2026.

The other usual conditions apply, including that you need to be travelling on Qantas metal, with a QF flight number. That can include travel with its ‘subsidiaries’ such as Alliance Airlines, Airlink, Finnair, Eastern Australia Airlines, National Jet, and Sunstate Airlines.

To qualify, bookings should include the registered business ABN, and of course, your Qantas Frequent Flyer Number. It’s that ABN that ties your booking back to the business’s QBR account and thus determines eligibility for the DSC promotion. Qantas is also aware that this promotion may be subject to abuse, so it warns that it will be monitoring this. How can I put this in simple terms … I wouldn’t suddenly be adding all your children and cousins to your business account

Bookings that DON’T qualify

Just because a flight you book is on another Qantas Group airline, or one of their many partners, doesn’t mean that those flights will qualify. In fact you can kiss goodbye to the promotion for any bookings with Jetstar, or partner Emirates, or indeed any OneWorld partner like American Airlines.

You will find a full list of FAQ’s and links to the fine print here, at the bottom of the web page. There is a ‘Join’ tab on the top right of the same web page.

Double Status Credits have limits

Although earning Double Status Credits does count towards your (re)qualification for your Qantas Frequent Flyer status, there are some limits. The bonus credits are subject to some exclusions. They won’t count towards Loyalty Bonuses, Platinum or Platinum One Rewards, or Tier Accelerator requirements. However, they will count towards Lifetime Status at any of the three levels — Silver, Gold or Platinum.

If you have an ABN and still don’t have a Qantas Business Rewards membership, well, now is the time. Here is the link to the Qantas Business Rewards website.

2PAXfly Takeout

Well, there goes the rest of my day working out the cheapest way to move my status up to Platinum One with the least spend! I will be doing a lot of searches and spreadsheet jujitsu.

It currently looks like I am going to more than re-qualify for Platinum Status. So, I need to see if at three times the status credits required for Platinum, it’s worth heading towards Platinum One. Given that Qantas will give you a soft landing back to Platinum the following year, so you don’t have to requalify.

It might almost be worth it, just for that and the top priority for points bookings and upgrades.
