Perth Business Lounge - First Impressions

Hello travellers,

Perth Business Lounge - Terminal 3, first impressions

I recently visited Perth, and had a chance to spend some timein the Perth Business Lounge. Its design is the now lounge look from Qantas, and feels like a prototype for the Melbourne domestic business lounge. You can read my first impressions.

What else happened last week?

Australian Border Force had another outage incident that seemed to affect east coast airports for a few hours, delaying passangers and flights. Air New Zealand is launching something that seems to involve the All Blacks, and maybe destinations in the Americas - well at least that's the import of three 'spycraft' teasers released on social media. British Airways is about to get its first 777 outfitted with their new 'Club Suites' business class. All can be read below

What's coming up?

The next week or two will be quiet in terms of getting on planes and staying in hotels, and so I hope to catch up on some trip reports.

Coming up will be some domestic travel on Virgin Australia's Business Class (for the first time), and associated lounges in Adelaide and Sydney courtesy of a Krisflyer points redemption.

Catch up on last weeks posts below. Until next week . . .

Happy Travels,
2PAXfly

QANTAS and American Airlines – joint venture approved

By 2paxfly on Jul 22, 2019 06:00 am

History of Qantas & American Airlines joint venture A joint venture between airlines – is their closest form of association. (What’s a Joint Venture? below) So these agreements are not granted easily, as they are at their heart anti-competitive. They also tend to get a bit political, as this one did. Here’s a summary of […]

British Airways Business Class finally catches up

By 2paxfly on Jul 20, 2019 06:00 am

There is only one airline’s business class that my now husband has asked me never to book us into again – and that’s British Airways. He was provoked to describe the seats as ‘coffins’, and coffins that you have to walk over at that. Don’t get him started on the service! New Business Class – […]

Air New Zealand, August 1 –something about Rugby, or flights to the Americas, or maybe new business class seating.

By 2paxfly on Jul 19, 2019 10:29 am

Air New Zealand is running a promo for something to be announced on August 1st. There are three videos in the spirit of some George Smiley type spycraft, that drop some hints about what is to be announced. Here are the videos, with the clues beneath them. So did you get that? Vancouver (cold this […]

Border Fail – Border Force outage causes chaos at Sydney Airport

By 2paxfly on Jul 15, 2019 10:47 am

Australian Border Force terminals are suffering from outages, causing delays, frustration and long snaking queues at Sydney’s international terminal. The start of the queue to get into international departures, we are all wondering if 2 hr early is enough. #sydneyairport pic.twitter.com/E64adpC6fj — Douglas Abdiel (@dougabdiel) July 14, 2019 E-Gates not working Passport security e-gates are […]

First Impressions: Qantas Perth Business Lounge

By 2paxfly on Jul 15, 2019 08:00 am

Introduction I was on my way to Adelaide from Perth, and spent a couple of hours in this Terminal 4 lounge, along with others, some waiting for the 787 flight to London. My Qantas Platinum status gives me entry to this lounge, but I would have also qualified as I had upgraded my Red e-Deal […]
