Rice Pudding at CRACK, Adelaide

Hello travellers,

From Adelaide

I'm at the airport in Adelaide after 6 nights catching up with friends and family. I've been staying at the Adelaide Intercontiental which has one of the not-so-good hotel breakfasts, at a ridiculous price. Consequently, we have been sampling the delights of breakfasts and brunch at cafes and restaurants around Adelaide. I can report that the prettiest is the Rice Pudding at Crack Kitchen on Franklin street, the best traditional is at Georges restaurant on Waymouth street, the Frenchest is at Hey Jupiter, and the most innovative served on the most interesting ceramics is at Sibling on Gilles street. I might try and do a more comprehensive post about this soon.

What happened last week?

Quite a lot: for a start LATAM has announced it is leaving the Oneworld alliance, and Delta Airlines is taking a 20% stake in them - so who knows what will happen with the Qantas/LATAM alliance.

Qantas is behaving like a bully towards Virgin regarding landing slots in Tokyo and Virgin has increase carrier imposed charges on flight redemptions.

To top it all off, the first of Qantas's refurbished A380's arrived in Sydney

What's coming up?

We shall see. . .

I know, I know, but I promise I will get back to the posts from the Honeymoon Trip to South America

. . . and the first reviews from Fiji and Fiji Airways are also in the pipeline.

Catch up on last weeks post below. Until next week . . .

Happy Travels,

Scrapping in the playground Australia’s two international airlines have been battling to gain two landing slots at Haneda Airport in Tokyo. These slots are not easy to come by. Qantas has been man-spreading itself over the two slots, while, Virgin, has politely asked if it could have one, please? ACCC Well because they couldn’t play […]

Virgin Australia massively increases Frequent Flyer carrier charges – some up 200% plus – from January 2020

By 2paxfly on Oct 04, 2019 11:56 am

OK – the bean counters are in control, the customer loyalty people must have no spine and left the building. If there is one thing that will piss off frequent flyers, its big cash fees added to the number of points required to redeem a flight award. From 8 January 2020, the Velocity Frequent Flyer […]

Oneworld Delta slap by LATAM – Delta takes a 20% bite of LATAM, who exits Oneworld

By 2paxfly on Oct 01, 2019 06:00 am

Well, this will shake up a few things! North American Delta Airlines is taking a 20 per cent stake in South American airline LATAM. No biggie of itself, except, this also means the end of the alliance between American Airlines and LATAM and will see LATAM withdraw from the Oneworld alliance which also has Australian […]
