Nadi, Fiji – Here Qantas comes

Nadi, Fiji – Here Qantas comes

31st March 2019 sees the return of Qantas to the Sydney – Nadi, Fiji route after an absence of close to two decades.

QF101 at 10:30am arriving in Nadi at 4:30pm (Tuesday, Friday, Saturday and Sunday) and QF102 return at 5:35 the same days will arrive at 8pm back in Sydney.

You’ll be in a 737-800, so it will feel like a domestic flight for the 4 hours in the air.

This Qantas service adds to the twice daily Sydney to Nadi flights of Fiji Airways, and the near daily flights of Jetstar and Virgin. I travelled on Fiji Airways in Bsuiness Class to Suva, returning from Nadi (more popular and with a better airport) in 2018.

Fiji and Qantas have approx matching prices in Economy (AU$716) and business (AU$2,169), but if you want to go more cheaply – then you can save yourself $500 on Virgin in business although many of their economy fares are a little more (~AU$40) expensive than Qantas.

QF101 will depart Sydney at 10.30am every Tuesday, Friday, Saturday and Sunday to reach Nadi at 4.30pm.

The QF102 return leg will be wheels-up from Nadi at 5.35pm the same day for an 8pm touchdown at Sydney.

“We have built flexibility into our network to respond to growing demand where we see it. In this case, it’s a return to Fiji after almost 20 years, a short four-hour hop from Sydney, helping extend the summer for Australians year-round.”

Qantas International CEO Alison Webster

You can still use codeshare flights between Qantas and Fiji Airways for flights to Nadi, and you get an A330 with that. Fiji Airways is also part of the Oneworld Connect scheme, which offers some benefits to members of the Qantas Frequent Flyer scheme:
