COVID-19: Qantas repatriates stranded Australians from South America

A repatriation flight from Lima, Peru to Brisbane, Australia, on a Qantas aircraft, has just returned 115 Australian tourists from South America.

The tourists had been effectively stranded due to the lockdown implemented by various South American countries due to the COVID-19 pandemic. All the arrivals will have to complete 14 days of mandatory isolation in Brisbane.

According to the Sydney Morning Herald, the flight was originally scheduled to leave Lima on Monday afternoon, and arrive in Brisbane at 5:40pm on Tuesday, but the flight was delayed by three hours.

2PAXfly Takeout

Welcome home. Sorry about no IFE and limited catering on the flight, not to mention the social distancing, and if you are not a resident of Brisbane, sorry about the forced 14 day stay there as well.
