Down! Down! International Business prices are Down!

Since I constantly dream in those moments of the day where I am doing something I would rather not be doing - I did some random checking of business airfare prices to Europe. It's probably one of the most competitive routes out of Australia - well - more competitive than Australia/USA anyway.

It seems prices are way down - and from some usually pricey outfits like Qantas.

Qantas
The last time I priced a return business airfare with Qantas - I was looking at a minimum of around $11,000.  Now suddenly, if you buy before next Thursday (18 July 2012) - you can travel anytime from now thought to about this time in 2013 for just under AU$6,000 - nearly half price. See their 'Gold Medal' promotion.  This is a really good deal if you don't have to pay for the whole thing now.

As much as I sometimes bag Qantas - those Marc Newson seats - now that they are actually flat, rather than lie flat, are pretty good.

Thai Airways
Thai are doing their companion fare promotion again.  These seem to come around fairly regularly, and are good deals.  However, you will be getting a lie flat, rather than an actual flat bed, but the service is good, and you can always do a stopover in Bangkok. Fair to London is under AU$6,200. There have more limited dates though - travel through to Feb. 2013.

Canton Route
China Southern is opening up a European route via China. The service experience on Chinese airlines has not always been the best, but in a review in this weekends Sun-Herald, recruitment of more english speaking flight attendants seems to have helped. The review bags the entertainment system, but with iPads and other mobile devices - who worries overly about the inflight entertainment system. To Europe fares in business seem to be around the AU$5,500 mark.  I'm going off press reports here - their chinglish website is a little hard to follow sometimes.  Search your favourite flight details website - and see the prices.

Ok - well I'm checking conditions, cabins, seats and amenity packs before I book - anything worth noting I will report here.
